This representation of data doesn't eliminate the possibilities of confounding factors that might skew the data, such as wealth, urbanisation, climate, health facilities of that state/region etc.
Cross tables of these parameters across life expectancy, would have been better to eliminate such loopholes and would've provided a better picture. In their absence, this feels like (my opinion) a bit of ideological so as to let the data fit into preconceived narrative.
Also, survey doesn't factor in the ethnic backgrounds. A Kashmiri is different from a Naga, a Tamil and a Bengali. Without such considerations and sweeping generalisations only on the basis of caste, is oversimplifying at the best and insulting at the worst of India's great diversity.
