  2. GenXer here. Man alive, that crying Indian commercial was my childhood! I couldn't bear to watch that whole portion. I kinda don't want childhood memories ruined. Though, yeah, I did hear a few years ago that he wasn't even Indian.

  15. Chicago pretended to get rid of plastic grocery bags so people would bring their own reusable ones. It was all a lie. A short time later, they brought the plastic bags back... and started charging 7 cents a pop for them. LOL! So much for caring about the environment. It's all a game!

  17. I can't prove it, but I suspect it's all a waste of time! How many years have we been doing this? How many actual products/results have we seen from it?

  18. Same in Chicago! They charge 7 cents a bag. What a scam! It was such a huge commotion when they were supposedly getting rid of the plastic ones to "save the environment." They did disappear for a while. Poor you if you had forgotten and bought a bunch of stuff and had no bags with you. But eventually, the brainwashing took hold and people became pretty good about buying/bringing their own bags. I have a few. All of a sudden, without warning or explanation, they brought the plastic ones back. Only now, they started charging for them. In some stores, they are of a lesser quality than before. They're ok if you have light things. But anything with corners (like frozen foods) or anything heavier than a half gallon of milk and they will easily shred. I was naive to think it was a temporary thing. A transitional situation. Years later, they're still charging. I'd love to know how much money they've made so far. And exactly who is getting all that extra money. It's a joke!

  21. I've always wondered if it was a scam. No one ever says what's being made from all this plastic! Oh, sure, once in a while I see, "This _ was made from recycled bottles." But that's rare. And who knows if it's true anyway. As to animals and everything else in the natural world, that's why God gave them to us. But it has to be done responsibly. You don't want to use an animal to the point where they are extinct. But it's not wrong to use them for food, clothing, etc. I'm an animal lover, so I don't necessarily love that. But that's life in a fallen world. Again, that's why God gave them to us. So I don't understand what that was all about. Once we get away from the biblical worldview, things get to be a mess. We either use natural things or synthetic things. If it's bad to use the natural ones and it's bad to use the synthetic ones... I'm not sure what other option there is.

  26. On this topic, when can we expect the video about the BILLIONS of masks discarded around the world since 2020? You know, those masks we were forced to wear to pretend to block aerosols? I'm pretty sure at least parts of those disposal ones are made from some sort of plastic. Funny how the environmental crowd has said NOTHING about this. Nothing. It's like 2020 never happened.

  28. Yep! My parents use(d) a lot of medications. Why can't there be a situation where you bring the bottles back and refill them with the same exact medication? I know not everyone can do that, especially if they're old/sick. Understandable. But why not have the option for those people who can? How many BILLIONS of perfectly good, usable bottles are wasted? It makes no sense.

  30. Most of this "environmental" stuff makes no logical sense. I'm in my 50s and grew up drinking city tap water. As far as I can tell, I am still alive. Then, all of a sudden, we were told tap water is bad for you. Along came bottled water. But what about all these BILLIONS of plastic bottles being discarded all over the world? No one ever mentioned that part. Now I'm hearing the plastic leeches into your body? THAT can't be good. I'd rather just drink tap water! A few years ago, Chicago was (supposedly) getting rid of plastic grocery bags. You know, "for the environment." There was a whole campaign encouraging people to bring their own bags. Fine. Then, not long after, I started seeing the plastic bags again. Only now, we were being charged 7 cents for them! And they're crappy, thin bags, too. It's a GAME. Nothing more.
