Does it ever occur to anyone that people may not be able to care for an animal anymore because they cannot afford their medical care? (Which, as we all know, can be extremely expensive, especially for older animals with multiple health issues.) Or perhaps the owners are themselves, elderly and cannot safely walk the animal or maybe help them down steps, that sort of thing? Do people such as yourself EVER think about that?

@emilyelizabethbuchanan998 Saying, "He's old" can encompass all those things. I'm sure it's a hard situation. Maybe people are embarrassed and don't want to tell their whole life story to strangers. Maybe they just want to give the quickest response and get out of there. I think we should just be thankful they didn't dump the dog out in the middle of nowhere.
