@oBluePandaO I don't know why it "sounds bad." It's accurate and appropriate. We love our pets. We take care of them as best we can. We are sad when they're gone. It's coming up on the 1 year anniversary of our family dog having to be euthanized for health reasons. I still cry when I see pictures. The house still seems empty and quiet without her. But... we were her owners. There's this bizarre cultural thing going on these days that seems to want to put animals/pets on the same level as people. They are not. But that's what happens when we reject the biblical worldview. The biblical worldview is that human beings are to be responsible and humane caretakers of animals - whether that is for food, for service, or as pets. But we must never, ever put them on the same level as human beings.

@sophies9274 Show me where I said anything about not loving our pets? Get it through your head: We own animals. We don't own people. We used to. Some countries still do. It's called slavery, and it's evil. But, again, human beings are not animals. That's why we can own animals but we don't own people. You and everyone else like you need to get it through your thick heads that animals and people are not the same.

@T.K.T Jesus Christ exists, whether anyone believes He does or not. That is called reality. It doesn't change according anyone's belief about it. Oh, so if an animal attacked you or a human being attacked you, you'd treat those two situations exactly the same?

@kaithp4359 Thanks. My mother died in February after 7 hellish years of dementia. The dog died in September. She loved that dog so much. Now that I think of it, I guess it's good she didn't have to watch her suffering or see her put down. It would have broken her heart. Anyway, thanks again.
