  1. I'm 55. I always swore I'd never be one of these old people who hate / don't know modern music. I did pretty well up until my 40s. I could still relate to my younger nieces and what they were into. But honestly, I just can't take what passes for music these days.

  2. Since I was a teenager I swore I'd never become one of those old people who hates or doesn't even know modern music. I did pretty well until maybe my mid-30s. But at 54, that's exactly what I've become. And you know what? It doesn't bother me anymore.

  5. When I was a teen, I swore I'd never been "old" like my parents, not knowing any current music. And I did pretty well up until my 30s maybe 40s. 52 now and I just... don't care. I can't stand most of this stuff. God bless you, Rick! I guess I'm just old for real! What I can't take is the electronic-y sounding "singing".

It's my first time seeing her & I even can feel the loss. I can't imagine what it's like for you & the family. When people die, they leave a hole in the world that can never be filled.

  15. Maybe try to share some of your music with them? But I know it's so hard. Even adults are addicted to their phones. It's horrible. But don't give up! Keep finding good music out there. Or learn to make your own, if that is something that interests you.

  21. I don't know why anyone would laugh at the speaking or the singing. The speaking is called proper ENGLISH. We USED to speak it in America. And the singing was beautiful. I'm a woman and I wish I could hit notes like that.

  30. I'm 51, so I can relate to wishing I had video of myself as a child with my parents. It's beautiful that you've preserved these memories for him. He won't be able to fully appreciate it until he's much older, and especially after you are gone.

  36. Also known as the unofficial theme for the show, SUPERNATURAL! I loved this song long before SPN existed. That connection only solidified my love for it. Hearing the various portions isolated made me appreciate bits I hadn't even realized were there. (Such as the guitar bit at 7:43, which reminded me a bit of "Dust in the Wind.") I'd sell body parts to be able to sing like that. And it hit me again - this is the pop music that everyone just heard on the radio on a daily basis. Can you imagine a song like this being played on radio today? No one would have the attention span for it. (Insert, "Okay, boomer" jokes here.) This video made me so happy! Thanks for showing me and explaining in detail why I adore this song so much.

  42. Not a huge personal favorite, but this song was all over the radio when I was growing up - which is interesting, if it came out in 70. I was born in 68, so that means it was popular for years! But I never fully appreciated it until now. It's always adorable to watch/hear Rick fanboying over songs I don't necessarily love and often don't even know. (Or I guess the kids calling it stanning now.)

  43. @ I never dreamed I'd be one of those old people who doesn't listen to the radio anymore. I had no patience for those old fogies when I was growing up. Now I am in my mid 50s. I guess we all become "old fogies' at some point, despite our best efforts to fight against it. So be it. I can't stand the trash that passes for "music" these days. (And get off my lawn!)
