Whenever you spend time with him, make sure it's away from any screens, even if it's just a few minutes. Make sure he sees books around your room, sees you holding / reading books. Tell him about fun story you've been reading. It doesn't have to be a long, formal lesson. Just casual comment. "Hey, I read a great story about ____." If he's open to you reading to him, do it! No, it is not your job to raise him. But you can do small things to help him. This will also help bond your relationship. Kids remember when older people spend time with them!

What group is that? Do tell.

Nonsense. It is the PARENTS' responsibility to raise their own children. Notice how it's plural. PARENTS - TWO. Stop fornicating and having kids outside of marriage. That's how we got in this mess. And then stop expecting everyone else to raise your kids. That's YOUR responsibility. And you WILL be held accountable before God one day!

Nonsense. It's the parents' ultimate responsibility. Either find a better school, homeschool, or take the time at home to work with your child! Parenting is also a VERB. It's an ACTION. The heart of the problem is that most parents don't want to put in that time and effort. They want to drop the kid off at the school with strangers and have them do all the work for them. THAT is the main problem here. I wish people would just be honest about that. Even if your kid is in a bad school and you cannot afford a better one or you cannot afford to stay home with them full time, don't you still see your child at any point during the day? How about weekends? You're telling me you can't spare one hour a day (or even 30 minutes!) of intense working with your child to help them get better at reading? You can't spare 10-15 minutes before they go to sleep to read to them? That does help. You can't spare a few hours during the weekend to have them read aloud to you, read with and to them, help them form their letters and numbers? You can't be bothered to take them to a library once a week? Basic stuff that no one needs a degree in education to do? Please. @citizencoy4393

That's what you get.

This breaks my heart. Please spend as much screen-free time as you can with that poor boy. @dissident1337

I also stopped this at 10 seconds. "Born between 2010 and 2025"? LOL! Looks like the makers of this video can't read either. This is the first day of 2024. There's no way to know what kids born in the future are doing. Good grief.

Don't give in to the bullying of idiots. Keep reading, keep writing correctly, keep speaking correctly, etc. I love the English language and I am watching it be destroyed by these ignorant savages.

I didn't know there was now a "Generation Alpha." Hey, maybe closing schools for a year or more wasn't a good idea. Maybe constantly wasting time calling W kids racists and non W kids oppressed wasn't a good idea. Maybe filling their minds with s * x u a l stuff that has no place in schools wasn't a good idea. Imagine that.

This is mainly on the parents. Parents know what's going on and they choose to do nothing about it. Even if you pretend you can't home school (you can) there's nothing stopping you from reading to and reading with your child every spare moment you and they have. Ask yourself, how much time does my child spend in front of a screen compared to how much time they spend in front of a book? There's your answer. (And no, having the screen "teach" your child to read is not the same thing.) Parents don't care. That's where the problem starts.

That's what they WANT!
