  1. I think I watched the first episode. Like Drinker, it didn't catch me. I ended up thankful because I was spared the cancellation. I cannot stand being left hanging. I watched from afar as the fans were crushed. Through the years I never stopped hearing how great it was and started feeling left out. (Which I also hate.) Then Serenity came along. I was bored and figured, why not? I didn't understand everything. But I liked the characters and was enjoying it so much that I resolved early on that I would go back and watch FF. Then they did THAT BAD THING to a character. I'll leave it at that to not spoil anyone. I was horrified! It came out of nowhere! I eventually learned that Whedon does that. He loves tormenting his characters and his audience - not for any storytelling reasons, but just because he can. He did it to me in Buffy. He really did it to me in Angel. I will NEVER watch anything Whedon again. Never.
