Listen here and listen well. Outside of maybe little passages you find on Christophobic websites, you have never read the Bible in its entirety, especially with the goal to understand what it's about. You have never read the Koran at all. You know that you know nothing about these two religions, much less have compared the two to be able to claim they are more or less the same.

And it's always easy to say a decision was wrong when you have no alternatives to offer. Those people didn't have that luxury. They HAD to make a decision in the situation they were in, given the options available at that time. History bears out that they made the correct one. It was horrible at the time, of course. But not doing it would've been even more horrible because the war would've continued and even more people would have died. That's how real life is. Sometimes, difficult decision have to be made.

That's as far as I read of your comment. It's obvious you have no idea what Islam teaches. And yet I'll bet you will 1) ignore EVERYTHING I've said here and then 2) lecture me.

And honestly, if people want to draw attention to themselves in that way and that was the end of it, it wouldn't be so bad. But to deliberately draw attention to yourself and then DEMAND that everyone around you not only agree with you, but celebrate with you and then label them "bigots" or "haters" if they don't agree, that's something else entirely.
Here's a fact. I am heterosexual, but a few years back I lived in the "gayest" neighborhood in my city. (I had no idea when I moved there!) But when I told everyone where I was moving, they made it sound like it was a wild place - like the Pride Parade, all year round. I am a quiet and boring person who doesn't like a loud neighborhood like that. So I was nervous when I learned this.
I was there for 4 years. I never had a single problem.Maybe people were partying or whatever in the bars, but I never saw or heard anything. The latest I'm out is 10 or 11, so if people want to go wild after that, fine with me. All I ask is that you don't trash the neighborhood, don't keep me up at night, and don't shove things in my face day and night and demand I agree with it. That's how it was when I was there, and I had no problems with anyone or anything. The only exception was the parade, which kicked off literally down the block from me. But even then, I was able to avoid it entirely. I would go to church early in the morning when they were just setting up the barriers and such, I'd go visit my family, and by the time I'd return, everyone was gone. Maybe a few clean up crews and cops wrapping things up, but that's it.
I never had one problem living there. I minded my own business, people minded theirs. Why can't it be that way all the time?

You say "language" like it's no big deal. It's not just the ability to make sounds. Some birds can mimic human speech so accurately that it's spooky to hear it. But that's ALL they are doing, mimicing the sounds. They don't understand the meaning of the sounds they are creating.
And that's the key. Human language is an incredible thing because we are the only creatures who can self reflect and then communicate our thoughts to others. No other creature can do such a thing.
And that's just one of the things that makes human beings unique. There are others.

Who do you think SAVES other animals? Who are the ones who create things like animal shelters, conservation programs, rescue operations and all the rest?

So this nonsense that we are not special is just that - utter nonsense. The fact that you are sitting there typing and communicating with me is proof of that! What other creature on the planet can do such a thing? Only human beings!

Just no, what? You didn't address what I said. Animals do not have language. They can learn to mimic certain things, but that's all.

Did I say it wasn't? Of course there is verbal and non-verbal communication. I am not denying that. Animals can communicate with each other (and with humans) to a certain extent. Infants/small children can communicate to a certain extent, before they learn any speech.
But only human beings have language and speech. Animals do not and never will have that. They do not have that capacity, which is why there is a distinction between animals and human beings.
I'm not sure how anything you said there refutes that factual statement.

Exactly right. But anti-theists cannot seem to grasp this.
We say: Atheism has no grounding for morality.
They hear: Atheists are immoral / bad people.
But we are not saying atheists are bad people. We are not saying that atheists can never do any good things.
What we are saying is that if the atheistic worldview is true, if material reality is all that exists, if we are just molecules crashing about in the universe, then the very concepts of "right" or "wrong", "moral" or "immoral" have no meaning because there is no transcendent standard for what is right or wrong.
If the atheistic worldview is correct, then each person or each community defines what is right or wrong for them. It's entirely subjective. One person may think it's wrong to throw other people into gas chambers. But another person may think such an act is right. If everything is indeed subjective, then who are we to say that ANYONE is wrong for doing ANYTHING?
By that reasoning, we need to throw out the entire legal system. After all, one person may think it's "wrong" to break into someone's home and steal their possessions, but another person thinks it's "right".
"Who are we to judge?" Isn't that the societal mantra for today? And yet we do judge between right and wrong, every day. We cannot exist without doing so.
As to free will, if we are "just our brains" and we have no real free will, then why should we trust anything we even think? Why should we be held accountable for anything we do? A mass murderer could easily say, "My brain made me do it! I am not responsible!" But if we let a mass murderer go on those grounds, we'd think it a grave injustice because we DO hold people accountable for their actions.
If it's just our brains doing things, not us making conscious choices, then we are not accountable for anything we say or do. But no one lives that way - not even atheists - because no one CAN live that way.
But again, try to explain this to atheists/materialists and you get nowhere. I have run out of ideas or angles to use in trying to do. Perhaps you've thought of something more effective. I am tapped out!
