  4. I generally don't like thin soups. (Had jaw surgery years ago and can no longer physically/mentally tolerate many liquid-y foods.) This way is even better than a thick, hearty stew! Imagine how good that would be, coming in from the freezing cold.

The people who wrote down these recipes would be amazed that not only are they still being used, but now they are shared to people all over the world, via this magical screen! For all the negatives of the internet and for all the troubles of modern life, we really do live in an extraordinary time.
