The media telling people not to stockpile food kind of makes me think of the same reason why they were trying to defund the police because when society, like the citizens, gets to a certain point of hostility, they can enact a federal police force which would put some of the Western countries into a communistic state

Back in the summer of 2020 I started stocking up on dry pastas and rice and beans and putting them in glass jars and I got even more in the summer of 2021 because I was concerned about famine because of Asia flooding into Europe and the on-and-off droughts here in the States but this situation is totally different and at least I'm still ahead

  3.  @raia9  Grill as a man I tried to avoid using plastic and also animals can chew through plastic as well as some bugs can get through plastic, not glass even though there aren't any animals breaking into my place
