  1. Well if the dollar gets crushed to zero or the penny gets removed from prices, I will definitely turn over my store of copper pennies from the US Canada and Britain and use that to buy more silver or gold haha

It was at some point during 1982 they debased them, so the penny that was still mostly copper weighs over 3.1 grams, but if it weighs about 2.5 grams, it is that fake brass. There is word out there that in 1983 there was some pennies minted on the old planchets and they would be close to 3 grams. Up until 1996 or 1997, Canadian pennies had 98.5% copper
