Not entirely true, because Rome also had elected officials, but history taught our Founders that after dictatorship comes democracy, and then a mob begins and later takes over, which causes another dictator to rise up and destroy the mob, which goes in a literal vicious circle, being why we were made into a constitutional republic with checks and balances. If you pay attention to the way they were things all around the election the far leftists and office continued to say that Patriots were trying to steal their democracy yet they have stolen our Republic and are trying to make it a democracy, which then we already know which mobs will try to take over before leading to a dictatorship in this country
