  2. I know a lot of us here already know the whole talk of reparations is simply ridiculous, but they were already a thing back in the 1800s. Right after the Civil War was over the government actually offered to pay for people to travel up north to find their families on the taxpayers dime, just like they were also offered a boat ride overseas back to their homeland, also on the taxpayers dime, and a lot of them were actually so afraid of assimilating that they didn't want to leave the plantation and just offered to be an employee. I think it was less than 25% of the freed people here actually took up that offer
