I taught English in Cambodia some years ago - genuinely the kindest people I have met anywhere; astonishing considering the historic levels of intergenerational trauma and difficulty accessing even basic resources. A really suspicious number of amputees though - the war Kissinger brought to that land continues to bite deep even across the veil of years. I don't pretend to have a comprehensive enough grasp of geopolitics to definitively comment on the man's entire legacy, but what he did in Cambodia, whether natural or moral, was an act of evil.
