Ww1. revolution. flu. civil war. ww2 And Stalin Surprised anyone survived
649
Keynes was a revolutionary socialist? You on the spice?
347
Chuikov and everyone around him must have been terrified for days at a time. So would I.
206
And if Hitler had aligned with Polish Slavs he wouldnt have been Hitler.
54
Should have e shot them not listen to excuses.
43
British empire had similar categories with "Anglo saxons" at the top then the celts, n europeans, s euros down to the Australian aborigines at the bottom.
39
Aren't British agents all Russian
31
Amateurs talk tactics Professionals talk logistics Fascists talk nonsense
30
@Gareth Fairclough At the system’s greatest extent, in 1914, there were about 20,000 miles (32,000 km) of track, run by 120 competing companies. How do you co-ordinate that
25
I don't think people risked their lives because they didn't care. War isn't the same as your logistics company.
22
Fascism isn't noted for thinking things through. It's more of an emotional response to myths, rumours and fake science.
21
Butcher Harris to his colleagues
19
It is the Gulag for us.
16
Are you ready for Total War? Who cares.
15
Marx was Jewish His parents were converts He thought capitalism screwed up Judaism not there was something wrong with being Jewish. Please don't talk about economics any more. It's nonsense.
13
Hegel saw ideas battling things out for supremacy and Marx saw material forces, i.e classes. Basis is really pushing it.
12
Never Trust a Nigel
12
In WW1 the school next along from my grandmothers was obliterated by a German bomb. In WW2 a bomb landed in my other grandparents garden but didn't go off and my other grandfather had a group of pals killed by a V2 And that's before I list the battlefield deaths and woundings. Some of my family wanted revenge. I'm not surprised.
12
My grandfather was a bit of a ww1 hero but he never got over having to kill. Worse than being shot.
11
@TheImperatorKnight fear stimulates the imagination and he must have been terrified.

" "The basic feature of our economic theory is that we have no theory at all" A Hitler
9
Too warm for me.
8
Churchill has reached mythical status with people being offended if you say he was a racist.
8
Hitler believed in myth
8
I see the argument that Italy was fascist but Spain and Germany did think they were fascist despite the reactionary v revolutionary contradiction. Probably grifters making it up as they went along, so as to suit their own needs.
7
I don't like Bakunin's anti-Semitism bit his left critique of Marxism is valid.
7
indeed. at very least he set up a system that allowed Stalin to become a dictator.
7
Post war Greece and an insane right wing military government, so don't worry, they suffered some more.
7
@TheIfifi they wouldn't need fo. Nazis caught ussr in the middle of a modernisation plan e.g. they had built tanks and were still moving them and training folk. Hitler was a massive risk taker and that one came off. You can win battles with luck but nort modern war. Napoleon had already shown that and in Russia. T34s in numbers and well commanded would have wrecked Ger an tanks even the 3 and 4s of the time which hadn't been up gunned or armoured. Not a comfortable tank but tough with a good cannon and it starts on a cold day.
7
Are you being oppressed, my little snowflake?
6
Re Army was he'll of a good at fighting by then. Would have been long and horrible.
6
At the system’s greatest extent, in 1914, there were about 20,000 miles (32,000 km) of track, run by 120 competing companies. 120 Imagine trying to co-ordinate that even in peace.
6
UK too.
6

6
Inflation in medical supplies is higher than average because of the amount of new high tech and expensive equipment required. Please don't use the Daily Mail as a source for economics unless you want me to laugh at you. Of the G7 group of large, developed economies, UK healthcare spending per person was the second-lowest, with the highest spenders being France (£3,737), Germany (£4,432) and the United States (£7,736). France 1914 "We dont need artillary, we have elan and nice red trousers" Germany 1941 " We don't need logistics we have racial superiority and nice Hugo Boss uniforms"
5
Economics of the psychopath. People,e didn't fight or work for their country just because of wages anymore than smart people pick being an NHS doctor for the money. This is a horribly crude way of understanding economics and does not actually reflect how people work. Except for psychopaths and and far right economists who should get out more.
5
Byng's execution (1757) is referred to in Voltaire's novel Candide with the line Dans ce pays-ci, il est bon de tuer de temps en temps un amiral pour encourager les autres – "In this country, it is wise to kill an admiral from time to time to encourage the others."
5
Quays pronounced keys.
5
TIK think Henry the Eighth was a socialist.
5
@Bogda Nov compared to Stalin he wasn't. there was a committee and others had power. under Stalin, not so much.
5
Baron Keynes was not a socialist. Many on the looney right of economics seem to think that socialism and state spending are the same thing. They should get the internet and look things up or they are liable to conclude that Henry the Eighth was a socialist.
5
Nazis fired lots of lead Nazis had weak logistics Nazis, all tactics and anger but no strategy or economics.
5
"We are convinced that liberty without socialism is privilege, injustice; and that socialism without liberty is slavery and brutality.”― Mikhail Bakunin
5
But America is god's special country and they can do as they like, preach democracy and justice and make a film about how sad it made their soldiers.
4
So why does Swedenish socialism not create unemployment and Mrs Thatcher had 3 million out of work. I think you are being theoretical not historical.
4
I don't know anyone survived WW1, occupation, civil war, famine, invasion and all this on top of taking over the archaic Tsarist empire. I'm not saying vote Marxist-Leninist but I'm still impressed with what the Bolshevik empire achieved.
3
@arronjameshook The Britisn Empire had amazing logistics across many continents, climates and peoples. Look at all the places the British India forces went.
3
@user-qf6yt3id3w who told you the right can't be radical. Admittedly they are pretty flexible if it means power. Like Italian fascism.
3
Fascists loved war......not very good at it due to unscientific racial theories.
