Iran, in 50 years under strict Islamic rules, is an educated country where women are the majority of doctors and lawyers, judges, teachers, professional women, and a minority in engineering. This has been achieved, and it can't be denied! Communism has a similar effect on education. I think it's because there is nothing else to do, and in both cases, education is stressed.
