Russia is the biggest country in the world and all Russians are Russians . Ukraine or Big Israel wanted to join NATO who wanted to put Nuclear weapons on Russia's borders . We the USA was willing to go when Russia placed Nuclear missals in Cuba. Russia withdrew and WAR was prevented! So no surprise when Russia did not agree with Ukraine joining NATO
