No empathy, compassion, love. Sounds like the society we live in. And people wonder why this keeps happening but arent willing to change themselves, instead they just continue the cycle by making fun of his appearance in every other comment.

What kind of logic is that. It's much harder to catch someone who is not moving freely throughout a public city and instead sitting somewhere private that requires a warrant check.

Its not about making them into celebrities, its about spreading awareness of warning signs. and not just that, but society needs to learn to have empathy and treat people with respect. look at how every other comment is making fun of his appearance. he endured that his entire life and eventually just snapped and now innocent people are dead. Cause and effect. Society is partly to blame for this.

@USMCplzzz The death penalty should not exist at all because even if youre 99.9% sure, you're never 100% sure. And even one incorrect death sentence is too many. It's not about whether some one will ever be able to return to society, that's what a life sentence is for. There is plenty of room in prisons for people who deserve life sentences. Overcrowding is only the result of harsh punishments for small crimes.

@willardlentz3044 Theft is morally bad depending on the context. Is a homeless man who steals an apple an evil person? No. Is some kid stealing a fucking xbox going to cause you to starve to death? No. You took the definition of a word and applied your objective opinionated meaning to it. And as stupid as your opinion is, sure, you're entitled to it. But 99.9% of people would disagree if you told them some one was "evil" for stealing your xbox. They may agree that it was the wrong thing to do, and that maybe they were bad kids. But you're vastly misusing the word evil. Stealing an xbox is on the same level as committing genocide, rape, torture etc. You are just absolutely moronic and trying to hide behind the most obvious, blatantly desperate technicalities.

@orlandomolina7192 law is not based on opinions, the father did not commit a crime, the son did. Also since he's 20 the kids decisions has absolutely nothing to do with the fathers. If I buy some one a gun for self defense and they use it to commit a crime that is not on me that is on them. My intentions were good, theirs werent.

Ignorant people like you thinking they do it for fame, completely oblivious to the society and culture they live in that causes people to turn out like this. You want to stop mass shooting from happening? Learn empathy, teach your kids to learn empathy, bullying and ostracization needs to stop, people need to get mental help not from professionals but from people around them. treat people right and maybe in a couple generations youll see this problem start to fix itself. It's actually so dumb to me that people think that not spreading awareness of this issue on the news will help this situation instead of make it worse by making people even more ignorant.

@USMCplzzz There is a difference between being cautious when taking lives and everything else in the world though. You dont delay a construction project forever because there is only a 99.9% chance you'll retain your budget for it. You just do it anyways because money is just money. A life is something you can never bring back no matter what. The death penalty is not necessary anymore. Society is better than that. A life sentence has literally no downside since people who actually deserve them are so few. In any case the amount of taxes you spend on a life sentence are less than someone on death row. There is no downside, and this way you prevent innocent people from being murdered by the government due to a flawed justice system.

Also why do you think people are not deserving of empathy? You do realize that a lack of empathy is what creates mass murderers in the first place right? You should not be looking at it from the point of view of what this kid did, but how we should, as a society, have prevented it in the first place. Look at every other youtube comment, not on just this video, but go through every video covering this story, scroll down the comments and you will see everyone is making fun of his appearance and telling him ready to wear his dress for bubba in his cell. Do you think these kinds of people only say these things on youtube videos of people after they commit these crimes? It is inherently in their personality and this is how the majority of people judge others on a daily basis, whether silently or vocally(bullying, ostracizing, etc.) Our culture is just rotten. Add all of that up to a mental health crisis and guns being so easily obtainable and you have the American recipe for disaster. But of course it's so easy to just say "he's evil dont give him attention," leave it at that and wait for this to happen again next week so we can all repeat the cycle of ignorance. People don't want to get to the root of the problem because that takes effort. Sorry for writing an essay but it just bothers me full of hatred people are without realizing theyre the problem.

There should not be this many people that are so mentally deranged that they feel they need to take as many lives as they can as some kind of payback on society. In no other part of the world does this occur and with a large portion of them being child killers. It is abundantly clear that it is a societal issue. Yet everyone wants to just look away from the problem, they want it to not be broadcasted on the news because its easier to ignore the problem than solve it. Even if it's not solvable it can be diminished to a more natural percentage of people. We should be seeing things like this maybe a few times a year, not once a week, it is not natural.

They never got the help they needed because people like you have zero empathy and care in the world for other people.
