@MnemonicCarrier your understanding of anything outside of your sheltered bubble is very bad. It was already explained in the video, since he was 16 all he has ever known is military. He struggled to hold down a civilian job and struggled with suicidal tendencies. Some people can not assimilate back into normal civilian life so they go back to what they know, for him that meant going to ukraine to find his meaning.

@bwellington3001 What? there is a difference between a call of duty larper and some one who has generally lived their entire life in military. And why do you conflate "rich" with "happy"? You do realize the more modern life has become and the more intelligent we've become, the more boring our lives have become and as a result the more depressed we become. You dont see animals in the wild committing suicide or experiencing existential dread. That is because they're in a constant fight for survival, while humans are in a constant battle with mental illnness and trying to find a purpose in life. Being rich or successful does not mean you're going to be happy, in a lot of cases it just bring different problems with it.

@MnemonicCarrier then why did you even ask the question you did. you should know the answer. and "as far as you're aware" you're apparently not aware enough that the UK is in fact at war with russia. It's just a proxy war for now. All of NATO is at war with Russia.
