  5. Dennis Cosgrave You are using Rasmussen polling numbers. Rasmussen contacts ONLY land lines primarily in rural areas. Even so Obama is higher than trump. Furthermore Obama at this stage in his presidency was dealing with the effects of the biggest Financial disaster since the Great Depression. Trump on the other hand is riding the wave of the longest running economic recovery in American history which started under the Obama administration. According to Real Clear Politics average of ALL polls INCLUDING the right wing slanted Rasmussen poll trumps average approval rating today is 42.1%. Obama’s was 47.7% on April 17, 2010 under ENTIRELY different circumstances regarding the economy. Three polls released yesterday had trump at an average of slightly over 37% approval. Really remarkable considering the state of the economy which trump tries to take credit for but when it’s considered that Trumps economic policy consists of a $1.7 trillion tax cut for corporations and the wealthy which added $2.5 trillion to the debt and deregulation of the financial services sector which by the way are the exact same monetary policy’s that Reagan Bush and Bush implemented and which gave Americans the Savings and Loan disaster and the Great Recession it’s almost certain that the consequences will be the same. Trump is the first president in Gallup Polling history to have NEVER achieved a 50% approval rating by this time in his presidency. Pretending that trump is NOT the most unpopular president in history is disingenuous. Trump actually lost the election to Hillary by 3 MILLION votes and another 7 MILLION were cast for Jill Stein and Gary Johnson. Trump is the second president in modern history to become president after losing the popular vote the other being George W Bush’s first term. Basically trump is a minority president and a significant majority of Americans want him out of The White House. What kind of people support a pathological liar and likely criminal as President
