  1. Trump doesn’t actually want a border wall. He knows it’s an absurd idea. Trump wants a border Wall issue for 2020. Trump uses the rhetoric of fear anger and hatred to motivate the type of people who see trump as some kind of divine cult leader. Trump is their great white hope.

On the other hand the federal government has not built all the wall that was approved in 2006 by the Bush administration because it’s been tied up in federal court by law suits from land owners in Texas. The government has to procure land for a wall by the process of imminent domain. And they have to pay fair market value for confiscated land. To settle some lawsuits the government paid $1 million per acre for private land. Now trump has of course retreated from his 2000 mile wall absurdity and since there’s already 700 miles of various types of barriers trump has decided that about another 700 miles should do it. So do the math. If the federal government seized 700 miles of land one mile wide times 640 acres per mile was that’s about $448 BILLION. Of course the cost of building the wall is estimated at $50 billion and that’s probably low and then there’s maintenance and repair and it’s estimated that it would take 10-15 years to do it IF Texas land owners don’t tie it up in court for decades which of course they WILL so it’s an absurd idea that will never happen. Again. Trump doesn’t want a WALL. Trump wants a divisive social issue based on his racist rhetoric of fear anger and hatred to motivate gullible easily manipulated fools like you into voting for trump in 2020.
