  1. Michael is misleading on the reason for "socialism in one country". Lenin and the Bolsheviks firmly believed that because the revolution had happened in Russia that workers in the other European countries would also revolt. In fact, he thought that this would also end the war. That didn't happen. Then the Soviets invaded Poland and were defeated and had to withdraw. That was when they decided on "socialism in one country". Marxist-Leninist socialism is an internationalist ideology. After the debacle in Poland, they created the COMINTERN (1919) to foment revolution all over the world.
