  1. A neighbor of mine put an American V8 (i forget whether it was Ford or Chevy, but I think it was the later) in a 260Z. This was back in the 1970s. He had the rear wheel wells beautifully flared to take much larger tires. It was overall fantastic. Then, late one night, he took it out on the highway, and it scared him. The car was so light, and the engine was so powerful. He sold it soon after that. Actually, he would fix up and modify cars as a hobby. It was always fun to see what he was working on. Kind of like you.
