  1. You seem to believe that the Russian people want something different. What do you base that on? I see no evidence of that. Even the Russian dissidents like Navalny were more concerned about corruption rather than any real change to the system or foreign policy. The same is true of China. The protests there (and there are many) are about unpaid wages (not working conditions, which we would consider horrible) and unfinished housing. If the system was just a little fairer to them, they would all be fine with it. The dominant Han ethnicity is fine with what is happening with the Uighurs and Tibetans, for example. I am not advocating for any of these systems, but the issue is that many people in the world are fine with them. There are few places like the US in the world. It represents a unique set of circumstances. Those circumstances allow for the prosperity and freedoms we have. Even western Europe is only the way they are because of the American presence after WWII. Just look at their history prior to that. Look at the EU today. It is an anti-democratic mess.
