Prior to the US moving to an all-volunteer military, 18-year-olds were routinely drafted and sent to war. Ukraine has resisted lowering the age and their reason is demographics. In addition, Ukrainians are also feeling the effects of inflation, and even die-hard supporters of the war complain about it. If Ukraine did not have so much external support, they would already have collapsed.
