  1. Right on, Mark. I have just seen that the State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in China are sending workers home. They don't have enough work for them. Xi has been stressing SOEs and suppressing private industry. In China you have Xi, an economic illiterate, making decisions for the whole economy. He has no real advisors. He has "shot the messenger" (sometimes literally) so many times that no one will tell him anything but what he wants to hear. So, not only are centrally planned economies inferior in general, but in China you have an idiot running things. On top of that, like Russia, it is a massive kleptocracy. I tend to agree with Peter Zeihan when he says that China will not exist in its present form by 2030. I give it only a couple more years. It is chaos over there
