  1. The idea that CCP officials have been laundering money and stashing it abroad has been around for a long time. Estimates I have seen put it at the $1T mark. This, of course, makes perfect sense. Individuals do it in case they are singled out for persecution. The party in general does it against the possibility of the collapse of the government. So, while the detailed analysis presented here is interesting, it just reinforces what a lot of people knew.

  2.  @ernestkj  You have a point there. I was just thinking about the money they have squired away overseas as an escape fund. Even for that I was taking the low end of the estimate. The high end is $3T.
