This war preparation is all so stupid. For one thing, no one is going to attack China to gain territory. Who would benefit from that? China has poor farmland (look at its food imports), insufficient natural resources (look at how much oil, natural gas and iron ore it imports) and all those Chinese (an admittedly shrinking number). The only countries nearby that have attacked in the past couple of centuries, Japan and Russia, are also in drastic demographic decline. Russia is already the world's largest country by land mass. The Japanese economy has moved on from land-based activity. Would the US invade? As President Joe say, "C'mon man!" The US already has some of the best land on the planet, abundant natural resources (only limited politically) and an envious location.
