  1. China has not been a leader in any technology for at least 200 years. I saw a book on Chinese firearms of the warlord era right after the fall of the Qing dynasty. The Chinese were making copies of western arms. Some were made in competent factories, some in back alley shops. All were copies without paying any royalties to the companies that developed them. Sound familiar? It is, of course, not individual people. It is the system.
