The EV market in the US is also experiencing a massive slowdown. The lack of sufficient charging stations is a major contributor, and this does not seem to be on the way to being solved any time soon. As for lithium, a major, major deposit has been found in the southwest US. This will put even more downward pressure on lithium prices.

@0Aus Well, that may, or may not be, the case. You are assuming that the demand for EVs will hold up. It does not seem to be already, so projections about the need in 2025 lithium demand are probably incorrect. In fact, the best indicator of these things is the current and futures price, not what some pundit says about it.

@0Aus How do you explain the drop in prices? While the agreements are indeed set before mining, it is the futures markets that show the future trends. This will also feed back into those long-term prices over time.
