Retirement age, at least for Social Security, in the US is constantly adjusted upward. It has gone from 65 to 67 for those born in 1960 or later. It can still be adjusted upward, as the actuarial calculations indicate.

@sinan2.71 In the UK there is a limit on what is spent on older people. They have a board in the NHS to implement this.

@ryzezee8543 It might seem so, but all that automation is very, very expensive. Of course, we have had computers for a long time now. They have caused displacement and job losses but guess what. They have not decreased employment. What happens is that new products and services become available and affordable. People move to do other things.
