  1. I am not sure that the disparity between "offline" and "online" stores is that great. Don't forget that the ecommerce companies have warehouses and other physical facilities, whether directly or indirectly, as well as delivery, both within their systems and to the final customer. They can, of course, optimize, but this also takes a lot of infrastructure. The big difference is that online shopping generally gives one more choices, both in products available and in sources. Retail, even membership, does not offer that.
