I recently upgraded from an iPhone 7 to an iPhone 15. I know, a long time. I was in a phase of upgrading all my tech. The 7 was working fine, but the battery was finally starting to go. I realize I could have had the battery replaced, but I figured it was time for a change. As for Huawei "leading the way", I hope people in China realize that they are one of the biggest thieves of other people's intellectual property.

@4end Great deal. My friend, and attorney, offered to sell me a 13. I just decided to get the latest instead. I will certainly use if, as you say, for many years to come.

@EmporerGreg Wow, I thought I was slow to upgrade. When I got the 7 my wife still had a 6, which was a company phone and they had no plans to upgrade anytime soon. I was forbidden to brag that I had more advanced tech than she did as a condition for "letting" me get the phone.

@robejercito2624 Yep, I think it was about seven years. The battery as I said was a bit wonky. It would quickly show depletion down to zero and then work for the rest of the day.

@scammergaming7776 Well, you say that, but it is still difficult to get into phones, especially iPhones. I recently saw the FBI director mention that they got into the Trump shooter's phone, but that it was not easy. Several years ago, there was a celebrated case where a domestic Islamic terrorist had info on an iPhone and Apple would not help the authorities break into it. They found another way. The situation in China is different. When the authorities take your phone and ask for the passcode or passwords people do it. Otherwise, they face prison time without all the messy appeals and legal protections people in the west have.
