The ONLY reason the Chinese economy had the growth it did after the reform and opening up was foreign investment. The CCP, being a bunch of commies, have no idea of how capital formation works. A good example of this, and why China will fail, is this whole issue of getting rid of workers in their late 30s and 40s. Actually, for indigenous capital formation you want those older workers. They are more efficient and especially once the kids leave home, these people tend to invest a lot more and, in normal capitalist economies, are a major source of capital. This is another example of China totally mismanaging its human capital. Of course, I cannot be too sympathetic with the Chinese people. They support their stupid and corrupt system.
