  1.  @DroneTonSoukhoï...etPafLeMig  You are so uninformed. Trump actually lost wealth when he became president. He was wealthy through private business activities. Prior to the pandemic the US had great growth and low unemployment. You can't even blame Biden for most of the problems we have now. Actually, the US has very low unemployment and fairly good growth considering the world situation, even though everyone expects a recession (and have for a while now).

  2. Never a truer statement. I know a high level financial analyst who was hoping that Xi would get his third term. His reasoning was that Xi would tank the economy and accelerate the implosion of the CCP. This is not really an ant-China statement. I have long held that, in East Asia, the Chinese, sans the CCP, are most like the US in temperament and outlook. Just dreaming for a minute, I think that if China were free, democratic and an open economy, the US and China would easily "rule the word". Oh well, one can only dream.

  3.  @superduper5514  The US President is not in charge of the economy and does not have dictatorial powers. Xi is a one-man shop. He makes decisions and the CCP cadres try to carry them out. He obviously does not think those decisions through nor does he consider the consequences of their implementation. Three good examples should give you an idea. First is the implementation of the "three red lines". The policy was addressing a real issue (the property sector had become a Ponzi scheme), but he tanked 30% of the economy with the implementation. Second is the abrupt relaxation of COVID restrictions. There was obviously no planning that went into this, and no explanation to the public. Lots of people died, then he covered up the numbers. Third, and this one is for comic relief, is the sanitizing of airport runways. This is the stupidest and most wasteful thing I have seen. Xi said sanitize everything, and they did. Made me laugh.
