To emphasize the importance of "information warfare" in the military is a fool's errand. For one thing you don't need military training to conduct information warfare. To assume that is just plain stupid. Most people assume "information warfare' involves swaying the populations of an adversary. This is the common usage. If this is not what is meant, then that should be made clear. Second, the reality of war is reality. It is guns, bullets, artillery, missiles and airpower. You can have all the information warriors you want, but as Russia's invasion of Ukraine has shown, it is the better trained and led army that will prevail.

@cripstopheriii3509 Well, making assumptions about your interlocutor can be perilous. I have over 40 years of experience in the space and defense industry. I have been dealing with these technologies for that whole time and have seen their application. I have even developed some. So, did my father. So, I think I have some inkling of what I am saying. What you fail to have understood is that I was not saying that technology would not have an effect on the battlefield. It obviously has. What I was reacting to is the issue of "information warfare" outside of the battle space. This is something you get all the time, and it mainly involves situations, like Ukraine, where the protagonists are trying to sway the political situation in the other's camp. It is also prevalent on social media because that is what people can discuss there. What it still comes down to is what it always comes down to. Destroying the other side's ability to wage war. That means killing his soldiers and destroying his means of waging war.
