This phenomenon is not even interesting. It happens in ALL industries, especially at the beginning. A new technology comes along and lots of people jump in. That is natural. Just look at the early days of the automotive industry. You will see the very same thing. Look at mainframe computers. There was IBM and the seven dwarfs (I worked for IBM and one of the dwarfs). At the very beginning IBM had real competition, but then progressively took over the market. Staying with the computer field, look at the PC market. Do you have any idea how many companies there were at the beginning? We could also talk about the railroad industry, and the companies that made the locomotives. Many other industries and technologies have followed the same path. It is the natural path, especially in capital intensive industries. So, don't draw any conclusions about the ferment in the EV market.
