  1. Universal pre-K is a dumb idea. I remember when we were having our first, about three decades ago, we went to a lecture at a local university. Not long after that we moved to Europe and our sons started school there. If you look at Germany, kids get little formal education before they are six. Are they lagging behind? What is the push for universal pre-K? What is this all about. Where is the science on this? What is important is what the parents do before the kids start school. Will some government program work to replace that? Look at government programs in education, especially the federal ones. We can't afford this crap.
