  1. Those education rankings are based on tests. Most countries in the world teach to the test. Our education, in good school districts is so much more than that, and that is important. In most countries they only test the top students, because they have a two or three tiered school system. The students in the lower tiers never take these tests. In the US we test everyone. I have lived abroad, and been a governor of a school there. I have seen these systems up close. In China they have over 500M people living in dire poverty. And that is mostly rural. Those people never get near the tests used for the rankings.
