This guy doesn't understand. There is no desire to make the city safe, or make it work. As with most of the Democrat run cities, people are moving out and the few that move in have lower incomes. The fact is that the cities have become irrelevant. The solution to the societal problems we have is to move the good jobs back to the cities. This is where the people are. You can't locate a factory in the wilds of Iowa and expect the residents of Detroit or Chicago to move there. Why do you think that illegal immigrants are a large part of the workforces of these rural factories? Why should any of the jobs be in the rural areas, or in smaller cites? The reason is that the climate for business is better. But this ignores where the people are. We have to do something about this. For example, NYC, with its large population, should be a manufacturing powerhouse. Forget about the high-end jobs. That is a small part of the population. We need jobs for the majority of people, not the exceptional ones. They will find their own way and will prosper. That is why they are exceptional. We need jobs for the majority. We sent a lot of those to China and look what happened. The people making policy in the US are just plain stupid.
