  1. Wrong! Battery plants are being built, at a fast pace, in the US and in Europe. Rare earth minerals are available in the US and other places. Their mining is very environmentally dirty. That is why we shut down mines in the US and relied on China. They have no real standards. What we have done with a lot of manufacturing and mineral extraction is to move it to places without our standards. We have simply exported our pollution. Bringing it back will cost a little more. On the other hand, there now seem to be a movement to tax products from polluting countries. This will level the playing field and makes sense, if our pollution rules make sense.
