  1. China is not "ready" for a trade war or any other type of war. Their economy is in a shambles. Frankly, by western standards their banking system is insolvent. Their property sector (previously 25% or so of their economy) is irretrievably broken. Considering that real estate is the majority of investment for individuals, their people are being devastated financially. Their government borrowing is much higher as a percentage of GDP than America's. Their military is a joke. It is a "toilet paper dragon", or perhaps a "tofu dragon". On top of that their belt and road initiative, on which they have spent $1T (almost all loans) is in big trouble. In addition to the tofu nature of much of the construction I have seen reports that 40% or more of the loans are nonperforming. They talk big but have little or nothing to back it up with.
