This has been an issue for a long time. I am glad to see someone doing something about it. Of course, it would have to be Trump. One thing this does remind me of, and it is a humorous take on the situation, is the Woody Allen (are we still allowed to mention him?) movie "Bananas". In it there is a line by the new leader of the country after a revolution. He declares that "From this day on, the official language of San Marcos will be Swedish." Trump missed an opportunity to say something like that (and then tell people it was a joke, unlike in the movie). Zalenski, being a comedian, in Trump's shoes might have taken the bait. Oh, wait a minute. You do realize that one of the issues in Ukraine after independence was language. Look it up.
