  1. Wrong! The water would be heated, not by going through the nuclear reactor itself, but by going through heating elements driven by the reactor. Even current nuclear powered systems, including subs, ships and power plants do not rely on exposing the water driving the system to the nuclear fuel. A closed loop of liquid (not always water) is heated in the reactor. This then is used to heat other water to drive whatever process is needed. It would probably be the same here.

  2. It's easy to lay out a bunch of specs and say that it is wonderful. The fact that it was never built might be a clue. At the time it was being designed, there was no engineering modeling software, no way to predict what it would really do, but to build it. Basically, it is a load of crap.
