China in chaos. Frankly, that is business as usual for China in the last 150 years or so. Even in communist times it was only after Mao that some bit of normalcy was established and only since the opening to the west was there really any progress. That is only about 30 years. This time will be different, but not as impactful as it is made out to be,

On the population size issue, I have tended to agree with Peter on the situation. I have seen others who also have analyzed the situation over the last few years and have come to the same conclusion. Now, I even saw, on a channel that often shows conversations with people in China, that say the same thing. On one I watched today the individual opined that the population was under 1B. This was just a Chinese citizen looking at the situation around him and with what information he could get. China will collapse a lot sooner than people think.
