What you say about Norway is sooo true. They are still into whaling. One time, earlier in the century, I went over by car ferry for a vacation. We landed in Bergen. In the fish market there were great slabs of whale meat. Another thing they are doing, and this is brand new, is mining the ocean floor. They are getting a lot of heat for that but are ignoring it. Interestingly, the US is also seriously considering this as well.

@vinterskugge907 I think you misunderstood me. I have absolutely no issue with Norway's minke whaling activities. I just mention it as a further example of what Zeihan is saying. I meant no offense by it. I think it is a good thing that Norway considers the issues and am sure that whatever they do they will do responsibly.
