Wow! As Peter predicted in his opening you have to stay to the end. He did it. He made the point and did it very well. I was never a Carter fan. I was studying physics and working in the High Energy Physics department during the 1976 election. There was a poster on the wall in the hallway which sticks with me to this day when I think of Carter. It showed him with long white hair and beard and dressed in a white robe with the caption "Only JC can save America". I also remember talking to the co-chair of HEP who despaired of the choice between Carter and Regan and opined that he might have to vote for the Socialist Workers Party candidate. He wasn't even a socialist.
