@HankSemoreButz I like Peter and enjoy and value his geostrategic stuff, but he is a liberal internationalist. He states that many times. On US politics, or any current politics, his analytical style and approach is pretty useless, and irrelevant.

@careyfreeman5056 I wasn't commenting about the efficacy of the policy, just the correspondence of the issues in presidential politics. Actually, if you follow Peter, he generally says NAFTA was not great, and Trump's renegotiation of it, the USMCA, is considered much better.

I would agree with you that RFK Jr. is bats*it crazy. I heard a part of what he said on Joe Rogan's podcast. Yep, batsh*it covers it. What I don't think you are considering is that, while the Republicans have people who might be attracted, the Democrats have just as many or more, I posit. There is also the name issue. RFK Jr. is the son of one of the most revered Democrats of the last century. To figure out where he will have an effect will take, well, polling. By the way, how did you mean "Take a Hike"? Sometimes that is not meant to be nice.

Yes. And a better example would be Perot. It is more contemporary and actually some of the issues are the same as today. Exactly the same. It was Perot who famously used the phrase about NAFTA "the great sucking sound".
