Prigozhin is at least entertaining. Putin is a non-entity when it comes to entertainment. What you say is correct about who and what Wagner is. You just have to look at the guy who is reported to have started it, Utkin, to see that. The man is covered with Nazi tattoos. His call sign was Wagner in the Russian military. That was chosen because Wagner was Hitler's favorite composer. These guys are seriously bad. On the other hand, the atrocities you mention were carried out by regular Russian troops where there was no Wagner around. This is just the ethos of the Russian state, not some fringe group.
