As for his experience, it fits in with a lot of what I have experienced (I lived and worked in Europe and did a lot of business in Germany) and knowledge I have through in-laws in Germany. One of those in-laws surprised me one day. He had done what I did (a foreign assignment) in opposite direction. He was also a high-level exec in a German auto parts manufacturer. One day, standing on my deck in the US, he expressed a strong desire to move to the US. We could go on for a while about why that is. You have to understand that his family is an old established one. They have even traced their family back to 1700 (I saw the document). My sons studied German in high school at the AP level and considered studying in Germany (at least for a semester) and considered going to Germany to work after university. They decided not to. That is actually a typical decision. One the non-family front I have met German entrepreneurs in high tech who wanted to move to the US. I have met none who wanted to go the other way. The loser in all this is Germany.

Peter, TDS again. No one is anti-immigration. The issue has always been the type of people let into the country. It does matter.
